Participating in the MAPI

This project stems from the scarcity of data and information about marine aquarium species in trade from Indonesia. The fishers operate on a small scale, often lacking access for training, financial incentives and information about trade management and regulations. The exporters complain that there are too many forms and regulations to which they need to comply, and no incentives are provided to support their efforts in compliance.

MAPI has been developed to provide a platform for the marine aquarium industry in Indonesia to showcase its participation in supporting responsible and legal practices along the trade chains, and also addressing social aspects for coastal fishers community and the environment.
